I have decided after much thought that I really want to take this blog in a new direction. Name name, New Direction, New Look, New Everything. But for now I am still thinking about what exactly it’s going to be. So please continue to bear with me while I’m figuring this stuff up. Post will continue to be hit in miss for a while until I get it all figured out.
Lost
I sit and look at the empty page in front of me. At one time I could sit down and the words would come out of me like water out of the faucet. It was simple, it made me happy.
Now I’ve got no clue where I’m going, what I’m writing, or what I’m even saying. How do I get back to me? How do I find the passion I once had within? I’ve lost it along the way.
Wordless Wednesday Ya’ll
The White Tootie
Who out there remembers season one of The Facts of Life? I’ve heard many call it “The lost season.” I can see this because after that season there were so many changes made to cast and show.
One of the things about the first season we all remember is Tootie and her skates.
That girl wore those skates everywhere…
To the stables…

Showing people around…

Taking a test…

She was in love with those skates.
On Christmas Katelyn got herself some brand new skates. Oh she just feel in love with these. From the moment she put them on it was like she was born with them on her feet. Much like Tootie she wears them EVERYWHERE!!!
My daughter has become the White Tootie of Texas….
She found a new use for my cane and the dog…

Yup I got myself a White Tootie.
How Many Grown Men Does It Take
A few days before Christmas we attended our neighbors Christmas party. It was nice to get to know our neighbors better and meet some new people.
At the age of thirty two this was actually the very first Christmas party I had ever attended. I know I know shocking…But it’s true. The very first. Sure I’ve gone to small little gatherings but never an actual Christmas Party.
Now at the party there was a bar set up. At one point a rum and coke was ordered. Now as I walked into the bar area I saw several of the men (my husband included) trying to make this rum and coke.
No, you read that right several men trying to make a simple little drink. The reason…They couldn’t figure out how to get the rum out of the bottle.
I know what some of you are probably thinking “Where they drunk?” Nope all still sober at this point.
So the question I brought up to all in the bar area was “How many men does it take to make a rum and coke?”
After the laughing died down we had our magic number. It took four to make it.
Yes, four. They couldn’t figure out it was the kind of bottle that you turn over and hit on the bottom. Thankfully the host of the party came in and saved the fate of that rum and coke.
Tis The Season
I can’t believe that it’s almost Christmas Eve already. How and when did that happen? This time last year we were living out in the country in the rental. I never would of imagined that by the same time the following Christmas we would own another house and be settled in a great little neighborhood.
I’m pretty excited about this Christmas. For the last couple of years the kids have been asking for new bikes. But we just couldn’t swing it. This year they didn’t even ask for bikes. This is the year though that we were able to swing it. On Christmas morning they will wake up, come running down the hall and see three brand new bikes by the tree. I can’t wait to see the looks on their faces. Their smiles, the joy, the excitement. Those faces will be the best part of Christmas.
So on this December 23rd I want to keep this short and sweet. All I want to say is to everyone have a safe and good Christmas. May all your Christmas wishes come true and your spirits soar.
MERRY CHRISTMAS YA’LL!
Thanksgiving Week
I can’t believe that it’s already Thanksgiving week again. It seems like we just had the holiday season and here it is again. It came around the corning like a speeding train. It’s not like we didn’t see it coming. We all knew it would come back around the corner again. But so quick? Didn’t we just put away the Christmas lights and trees?
Here the kids get all week off from school. That is insane to me. What happened to the days where the day before Thanksgiving was a half day and then you got Thursday and Friday off. Thanksgiving growing up were never a holiday that I looked forward to at all.
As an adult it’s still not a thrilling holiday to me.
It may not be thrilling to me but my children love Thanksgiving. I’m not sure where they get it from. Specially Rebecca. All I’ve been hearing for the last couple of weeks is “Is it almost time for pie? I want pie. I love pie. Pie pie pie.” Ethan is excited for turkey and Katelyn yams. So maybe I have figured out why my children love Thanksgiving. It’s the food.
On that note….be careful if you are heading out to those grocery stores. It’s getting crazy out there with food crazed people.
Waiting….
It feels like the past few years I’ve been doing a lot of waiting.
Waiting to move….
Waiting to buy a house…..
Waiting to be healthy…..
Waiting to buy my car…..
Waiting for the lawsuit to be over…..
Waiting….Waiting….Waiting….
Well….
Waiting to move….check
Waiting to buy a house…check
Waiting to be healthy….I feel that one will never come
Waiting to buy my car….It’s coming real soon and the reason…..
Waiting for the lawsuit to be over…..We have finally settled.
Waiting….Hurry up and wait….I know very well what that means.
Having Some Trouble
Ever since the surgery I’ve been having such a hard time getting back into blogging again. There are some things that I’ve been working on with a couple other bloggers for the site. Once we are able to get things up and running there will be some changes. Until then just hold on with me. I’m getting better every day. So hopefully soon things will be back where they should be.
Plus I know many have commented about how all previous post are gone. I’m not 100% what happened there. One day they were just gone. I was upset but oh well. Life goes on right?
With that all said….I hope ya’ll are having a great Monday.
